Tenisha “Chaka” Davis of Hamilton, OH passed away Thursday morning, May 29, 2023 at home. She was born January 13,1975 in California to the late Denise Beavers & Carl Freeman. She attended Withrow High School in Cincinnati, OH.
Chaka took interest in hair early in life. She had the desire to learn and entered into cosmetology. She’d go on to attend Moler-Pickens Beauty Academy to obtain her license. After graduating, she continued to prefect her craft over the years. As she had a younger sister (Tiffany) and 3 daughters (Jeanetta, Myea, and lil Chaka) whom she had as her personal dolls. Her passion and love of hair & beauty led her to travel to hair shows and help establish two shops (Creative Images & Nu Expression) with LaToya Cunningham. Chaka brought smiles and comfort to family, friends and her community. She was the trusted hands that helped them prepare for weddings, school events and any other major events you brought to her. Chaka had become a well-known and trusted beautician in the community over the years.
Chaka was very talented in many ways from painting beautiful canvas and to sewing items that she’d hoped to reach future grandchildren one day. Mom being a Cali girl loved the water. She was always ready for a swim any time of the day. It was her happy place. As well as fishing, outdoors and being surrounded by family & friends. Chaka was always about creating long lasting memories. Chaka made everyone around her feel welcomed. There was never a stranger around her... Even when Chaka wasn’t at her best she managed to help anyone in need. She would cook, make a plate for anyone and she would even share her amazing homemade Zucchini bread. Her heart was so big and she was full of life.
Chaka was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and trusted friend. She is survived by her three daughters: Jeanetta Davis, Myea Freeman and lil Chaka Davis; one grandpup, Levi Freeman; brothers, Walter Williams (Shantel), Damien Mckibben (Larisa), and younger sister, Tiffany Beavers and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All of whom she loved dearly.
