Larry Hendricks Obituary

Larry Curtis Hendricks, was born May 9, 1961, in Jasper, Alabama to Jimmie Lee Hendricks. He departed this life on Monday January 23, 2023 at Riverside Health Center, Dayton, Ohio.

Larry attended St. James C.M.E. Church in Cordova, Alabama. Where he was a choir member, usher and taught Sunday School. Larry loved his church and he loved the Lord. He loved telling you all about the Bible. He loved Praying for everybody. His favorite Bible verse was: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.

Larry was educated in the Cordova School System. He graduated from Cordova High School in 1980. While in High School he played football, basketball, baseball and he was on the debating team.

Larry entered the Army a year after graduation from school. Larry was Editor in Chief for the National Society of Black Engineers, and was one of the first Black Cub Scouts in Cordova, Alabama.

Larry moved to Middletown in 1989. He was joined in marriage to Jane Schneider and was a devoted husband who loved his wife. Larry was loved by everybody that knew him. He had a sweet and loving personality he was so loving and he always had a beautiful smile.

He loved his Bengals and he always talked about them. He loved playing chess with the guys at Lakeside, He always said he was the “Chess King.” Larry will be missed. He loved everybody he would give his last dime to you. Larry was such a sweet and gentle person

Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents James & Dazalea Hendricks, eight uncles and four aunts. Larry leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter Cynthia (Cindy) Hendricks, two grandsons A.J. Carr and Gianni Lee Hendricks. A loving and caring mother Jimmie Lee Hendricks, one brother Rodney Hendricks, one sister Rhonda Harvey, one sister in law Marie Hendricks, one niece Darion Harvey, one nephew Da’Ron Harvey, five aunts Mary Belser, Jerline Hendricks, Lottie Hendricks, Demby Hendricks and Cynthia (Pug) Hendricks and a host of cousins, friends and other relatives.
